Nessa

Job: Duke of Hell and Demon Representative in the North of England
Nessa is a demon who is far too nice to be one (even if she tries not to be). She was actually the first angel to be created, along with her sister Jophiel, and was the first to become a demon. At the beginning she was an archangel called Zadkiel and was the leader of Heaven. When Lucifer and the other demons arrived in Hell, Nessa and Beelzebub shared the job of being his right hand demons; the Princes of Hell. Later on Nessa was demoted to Duke and now acts as Hell's representative in the North of England.
Nessa lives in a little flat in the centre of York. She meets up with Ophelia every week at a local pub to discuss their achievements during the week, and often for Nessa to pitch her new demonic inventions to Ophelia before presenting them to Lucifer. Of course, Nessa is madly in love with Ophelia, but she doesn't believe the angel could ever love her back. She is content being her best friend though.
Nessa loves any kind of alcohol, social media, coffee, the seaside, and chocolate; actually all human food!
Ophelia

Job: Angel of the North
Ophelia is a kind angel who has always struggled with morals and the pressure of the Heavenly rules. At the beginning she assisted the Earth department during creation, so she has always loved humans and the Earth. She was one of the first angels to volunteer to help in the Garden of Eden, and she has lived on Earth since then. She was eventually assigned to be Heaven's guardian of the North of England, where Nessa soon joined her as the demon equivalent.
Ophelia lives in her beautiful little cottage in the outskirts of York. She loves the cottagecore life and spends her days reading, baking, or gardening. She adores Nessa and wants nothing more than to say 'I love you' out loud and finally kiss her, but she is far too scared of the consequences from Heaven. She loves spending time with her beloved demon whenever she can and would do anything for her.
As well as her hobbies, Ophelia loves traveling to relaxing places, the seaside, red wine, chocolate, her city of York, roses, and anything from the romantic Regency Era.
Ezra

Job: Admin Angel and Ophelia's new assistant
Ezra is a sweet angel who is sent to work with Ophelia when her boss gets suspicious of her. He has worked as an assistant to Heaven's admin department for his whole life, and is therefore very fast at reading. He has always been a very quiet angel up in Heaven and is very passionate about his job and Heaven in general. He has always idolised Archangel Zadkiel and is excited when he finds out that is who Nessa used to be.
The Archangel Leader Jophiel sends Ezra to Earth to be Ophelia's 'assistant', but really she wants him to spy on her and report back to the archangels. Despite being shy at first, Ezra quickly settles in to life on Earth and becomes Ophelia's friend, choosing to be on her side. After a few weeks on Earth with Ophelia, Ezra becomes his true sassy, cheeky, confident self, and Ophelia and Nessa soon consider him a little brother.
Ezra loves anything new and exciting from the Earth, but he's too scared to try human food. He's fascinated by human life, and loves to read the books in Ophelia's library.
Beelzebub
Type: Demon Eye Colour: Brown Hair Colour: Green Favourite Colour: Red
Job: Prince of Hell
Beelzebub is Lucifer's right hand demon and the closest thing to a friend Nessa has in Hell. As an angel she was a healer, and once she became a demon, she and Nessa where named Lucifer's Princes of Hell and helped him to set up the realm. She dislikes the Earth and humans, so very rarely comes up, unless for some reason Lucifer orders her to. She and Nessa are the only demons that Lucifer would allow to answer him back or shout at him. Both Beelzebub and Nessa think Lucifer is an idiot, and Beelzebub basically runs Hell for him.
Beelzebub often hangs out with Nessa, either drinking or complaining about their boss; or both! In general, demons don't have friends, so neither say it out loud, but they have always been friends really. She knows that Nessa is close to Ophelia, but she doesn't like angels, so disapproves.
Beelzebub likes alcohol and practicing magic. She is a very proud demon and loves the realm of Hell; although she is sure she could do a better job of being the ruler than Lucifer.
Lucifer

Job: King of Hell or The Devil
Lucifer is the ruler of Hell and Nessa's boss. He is nasty, sassy, ruthless, and a bit of an evil genius. At the beginning he was God's assistant, and later an archangel. However, following an argument with God, he led a war against Heaven and was damned along with the other rebels. Lucifer immediately named himself King of Hell and he's been in charge ever since. He was jealous of Nessa as an angel, so likes to remind her that he is her boss now. He's an all-round nasty guy, and is always quick with a sarcastic sassy comment.
Jophiel
Type: Angel Eye Colour: Green Hair Colour: Blonde Favourite Colour: Gold
Job: Head of the Archangels and Leader of Heaven
Jophiel is the leader of Heaven and Ophelia's boss. She was the first angel created along with Nessa and was therefore known as her sister. When Nessa ran Heaven, Jophiel was her second-in-command, so she took over when Nessa became a demon. Jophiel is a formidable boss. She highly disapproves of demons, and claims that Hell have too much of a hold on the humans. She is calm and elegant, but to Ophelia, that just makes her more intimidating as a leader.
